Padangnese Food In an authentic Padang restaurant in Jakarta, they will bring all their delish dishes to your table, no need to lift a finger. You choose what you want to eat and after finish eating, a waiter will come up and count any items that are missing and tally the numbers. You then walk to the cashier to settle the bill. Simple enough, right?
Beef & Tongue Sate Padang (S) – IDR 23K A specialty skewer meal from Padang, made from diced beef with spicy sauce made of turmeric, ginger, garlic, coriander, curry powder, and salt. Quite tender meat with tasty, spicy sauce.
Karaka-Men Special – IDR 99K IPPUDO’s original tonkotsu broth with special spicy miso, cashew nuts, bean sprouts & ground pork. All “special” versions include salted soft-boiled egg, pork belly & seaweed. Strong miso taste, which I liked, but the broth could’ve been thicker as in the real Hakata ramen.
Smoked Beef Waffle (Single) – IDR 49.5K With refreshing combination of smoked beef, sweet tangy pineapple, cheese sauce & mozzarella cheese. I enjoyed it much but secretly wished the serving size had been bigger.
Es Campur – IDR 15K Cheap and delicious, enough said. Before Taiwanese desserts made it to Indonesia, this Es Campur was the first one coming here. This ice isn’t trying to be cool or fake, it is as simple as mixing a bunch of ingredients with ice, and that does the job. A must-try.
